March 1, 1985 marks a day of joyous celebration. Sweet Jaimie Leigh was brought into the world, borne of Lawrence Lee and Judy Lee in the New Westminster General Hospital. The two new parents were, well, not financially prepared for this beautiful new arrival and after only a few months, packed everything they owned into a U-Haul and headed east. The following fifteen years were spent in prairie dog hell. As we should all come to accept, sacrifices must be made in order to achieve success and happiness.
Lawrence worked day in and day out, while uptown girl Judy, became a Cinderella in her own right. Dishes and laundry had to be done and the two little hellions they had produced kept her wondering, “will this ever pay off?”
Early retirement was the pay off. In September of 2000, the Miller family left the puny village to their new mountain chateau. This is where Jaimie (formerly quiet, obedient, and shy) shed her cocoon and became a woman... an eccentric one. Shocked, her parents tried to restore order in their daughter, but her battle was not against them, her teachers, or the establishment. It was against herself. Head strong and determined to quench an undetermined thirst, Jaimie thrust through the boundaries of adolescense in her own non-conventional manner. After all was said and done, she emerged as much the shy, innocent girl as the outgoing lolita she always wanted to be. |
